Adopt a deer, male or female
• Build a fence around your property or buy a harness suitable to fit a deer and tie it to a heavy object.
• Those who adopt a male (buck) may wish to run a stud service as profit for rental service.
• Tag or brand your animal with a family crest or secure an ear tag. The number given to the deer will be associated with the name of the owner.
• Leash laws will apply. Any owned deer running loose and getting involved in a road accident, the owner will he held liable for any insurance claims.
• Fecal deer droppings can be composted and used to develop an abundant crop of petunias for feeding.
• Social clubs may be developed where owners can gather for tea and exchange of photographs of their deer (dear) ones.
• A name can be given to the deer. Please, no overuse of “Bambi.”
• During the Christmas season, do away with those lighted deer figures. Just string a set of lights around your deer. So cute.
• Other municipalities in the South Hills which have deer complaints (Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park, Castle Shannon) may wish to form their own league of deer owners.
You may wish to add your own suggestions to this list.
