Get informed before attacking

1 min read

I thought the majority of our residents in Mt. Lebanon were active and engaged in our local governmental matters, but the recent outcry over deer issues makes me rethink my initial position.

The majority of complaints I hear and read are directed at the commission and focus on their supposed indecision or inability to consult with experts. In reality, the commissioners, and other leaders in Mt. Lebanon, have been debating these issues for nearly two years, and have consulted with many experts, both locally and across the state.

To sling wild accusations and criticism to the commission is both uninformed and unfair to our leaders, all of whom put in much work to make our community a better place.

Mt. Lebanon is a unique and vibrant community, and I know we all want to keep it that way. With that spirit, I would encourage our citizens to visit municipal meetings, or send a note to our commissioners prior to bemoaning his or her decisions, or making personal attacks in the local papers.
