‘Little Shop of Horrors’
Seton-La Salle Catholic High School will present Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s “Little Shop of Horrors,” under the direction of SLS alumnus Valerie (Klisavage) Gigliotti, at 7:30 p.m. March 26-28 at the high school auditorium.
Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of a down-on-his-luck florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on people. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film “The Little Shop of Horrors.” The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known melodies, including the title song, “Skid Row (Downtown),” “Somewhere That’s Green” and “Suddenly, Seymour.”
Klisavage Gigliotti graduated from Seton-La Salle in 1988. While there, she participated in the musical all four years, and had the leading role of Audrey in “Little Shop” in 1987.Tickets are $9 and are available at the door.
