Scott Township’s new pool estimated at more than $3 million
Scott Township commissioners voted unanimously to authorize the township engineer to create bid specs for pool replacement in Scott Park during their March 24 regular meeting. Prior to the vote, township engineer Larry Lennon reviewed the cost estimate with the board, explaining that 16 items on the estimate were for site work like demolition, drainage, utilities and sidewalks. The cost estimate for the pool is $2,752,750, and the total project, including a 10 percent contingency for unknowns, is estimated at $3,028,000. The board also approved a technical and price proposal for geotechnical engineering investigation for the swimming pool replacement.
At the same meeting, the board unanimously voted to appoint Kathryn S. Calla and Kathleen A. Sites to serve a three-year term on the Scott Township Library Board of Directors.
In other business, the board voted to approve a Community Clean-Up Day for 9 a.m.-noon May 28.
