Catholic Diocese announces Bishop Zubik’s Holy Week schedule
The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh announces Bishop David Zubik’s schedule for Holy Week.
Services will include:
• Holy Thursday, April 2 – Chrism Mass, 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral, Oakland; Mass of the Lord’s Supper, 7 p.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral, where priests will wash the feet of 12 parishioners to emulate Jesus washing the feet of his disciples.
• Good Friday – Good Friday Liturgy, 1:30 p.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral; Tenebrae, 7 p.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral.
• Holy Saturday – Blessing of the City of Pittsburgh with the Christian Leaders Fellowship, 10 a.m. at Mount Washington Overlook opposite Saint Mary of the Mount Church; Blessing of Food, noon at Saint Paul Cathedral and 1 p.m. at Sisters of the Holy Spirit, Ross; Easter Vigil, 8:30 p.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral.
• Easter Sunday – Blessing of Families, 2 p.m. at Saint Paul Cathedral, joined by Auxiliary Bishop William J. Waltersheid and Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus William J. Winter.
In addition, numerous services at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland during Holy Week will be cablecast live on Christian Associates TV (Comcast Channel 95 in the City of Pittsburgh) and streaming live on www.ChristianAssociatesTV.org. They include:
• Chrism Mass, 10 a.m. Holy Thursday.
• Mass of the Lord’s Supper, 7 p.m. Holy Thursday.
• Good Friday, Seven Last Words at noon, Good Friday Liturgy at 1:30 p.m., and Tenebrae at 7 p.m.
• Easter Vigil, 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
