Santa Trolley

Beginning Nov. 27, visit Santa in a unique way on the Santa Trolley at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington. Children are invited to take a trolley ride with Santa to give him their Christmas list, while parents and grandparents enjoy caroling and the scenic view from a beautifully restored vintage streetcar.

Santa Trolley runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 27-29, and Dec. 5-6 and 12-13 (last trolley with Santa leaves at 4 p.m.). Bring your camera to take your child’s photo with Santa. Also, take a ride on the Yuletide Shuttle and then enjoy a cup of complimentary hot chocolate and snacks. Children also get to make a craft.

After taking a ride with Santa, check out the museum’s large Lionel toy train layout, featuring O scale trains and trolleys and a large LEGO layout built by Steel City Lug, Pittsburgh Area’s Adult LEGO User Group.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (62+) and $8 for children ages 1-15; children under 1 are free. Seating is limited and purchasing advanced reserved tickets are encouraged. Tickets will be available for purchase 30 days before the date you want to attend.

Trolleys and Toy Trains will be held 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 4 and 11. Ride the festive trolleys that are decorated for the season, then experience our beautiful multi-leveled Lionel toy train layout featuring many running trains and trolleys in the Visitor Education Center. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (62+) and $6 for children ages 3-15; children under 3 are free. Note: The final public day for 2015 is Dec. 13, after which the museum will be closed until March 18, 2016.

In addition, the museum will once again participate in the “Toys for Tots” campaign. Bring an unwrapped toy with a minimum value of $10 and receive $5 gift certificate to the Museum Store (limit one per family while visiting Santa Trolley or Trolleys & Toy Trains). Toys will be accepted through Dec. 13.
