Retail theft: Police assisted Walmart loss prevention officers Oct. 12 with a shoplifter who ran from the store and attempted to flee on a bicycle. Neftalie Jose Marquez, 33, of Ohio, was charged with retail theft, possessing implements of crime and possession, police said.
Convenience store robbery: A white male in his 20s entered CoGo’s, 2733 South Park Road, Oct. 17, made a purchase and when the cash drawer was opened, reached across the counter and removed the money that was accessible. Police said he fled into a waiting small red car in the parking lot. The incident remains under investigation.
Castle Shannon
Stolen license plate: Police arrested Anthony Walker, 44, of 3606 Boff St., South Park, Oct. 15 for having a stolen license plate and drug violations.
Drug violations: James Slusser, 34, of 2310 Hayson Ave., Pittsburgh, was arrested Oct. 15 on Mt. Lebanon Boulevard for theft and drug violations, according to reports.
Cecil Township
Card fraud: Elaine Sullivan of Locust Street, Muse, told police Oct. 14 that someone charged $315.95 on her debit card at a Rite Aid in Penn Hills, while the card was still in her possession.
Plate taken: Menjoi Adhikari, 1202 Grandview Ave., Pittsburgh, told police Oct. 14 that someone took his license plate off his vehicle while it was parked on Ansys Drive.
Utility vehicle taken: Police said a green Pug F-570 sport utility vehicle valued at $2,400 was reported missing Oct. 17 from the Behling Horse Farm, 961 Mayview Road.
Peters Township
Vehicle accident: Virginia Smail, 58, of Kingwood Drive, Venetia, lost control of her vehicle Oct. 14 and crashed into a pole, knocking it down in the 500 block of Church Hill Road in McMurray. She was taken by ambulance to Canonsburg General Hospital, police said.
Specimen boxes taken: Seven empty specimen boxes were reported missing Oct. 13 from South Hills Dermatology on Waterdam Plaza Drive, police said.
Two-car accident: Two vehicles collided Oct. 14 at the intersection of East McMurray and Center Church roads in McMurray, resulting in one vehicle being towed. According to reports, a vehicle driven by Brynn Lantry, 20, of East Highland Drive, McMurray, was eastbound on East McMurray Road, attempting to turn left onto Center Church Road. She turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Mary Barr, 53, of Lorene Drive, McMurray. Barr’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
Two-car accident: No one was hurt, but two vehicles had to be towed following a two-car accident the afternoon of Oct. 15 at the intersection of Washington Road and Circle Drive. According to reports, a vehicle driven by Maria Habovick, 49, of Steiger Street, Castle Shannon, was stopped at a red light on Circle Drive. Police said Habovick thought the light had changed and struck a vehicle driven by Sandra Hall, 47, of Shelbourne Drive, Coraopolis, who was southbound on Washington Road.
Gargoyles taken: Two Halloween gargoyles valued at $180 were reported missing Oct. 17 from a yard of a home in the 100 block of Bridle Trail Road in Venetia, police said.
Fire ring missing: A fire ring valued at $99 was reported missing from a side yard of a home in the 900 block of Venetia Road in Venetia, police said.
South Fayette
Cash taken: A man living in the 1000 block of Lakemont Drive, Bridgeville, told police Oct. 18 that someone took $405 in cash from a jar belonging to his daughter that was in her bedroom.
Upper St. Clair
License plate missing: A resident in the 2500 block of Shenadoah Drive told police Oct. 14 someone took his license plate off his vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
