At Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, learn about three ancient faith traditions at Trialogue: Muslims, Christians and Jews in Discussion, set for 7 p.m. Sept. 9. Sponsored by United Methodist Women of Christ Church, the panel discussion will include Bishop Thomas Bickerton, the United Methodist bishop of Western Pennsylvania; Rabbi Alex Greenbaum, leader of the Beth El Congregation of the South Hills; and Imam ‘AbduSemi’h A. • Children’s Choirs rehearsals begin Sept. 9. Children age 4 through grade 6 rehearse at 4:15 p.m. For Rhymes & Rhythms (approx. age 3), rehearsals are at 10 a.m., 1 and 4:30 p.m.
• Chapel Choir rehearsals begin at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 for grades 7-12. The Chapel Choir are the musical leaders for 9:30 a.m. worship and go on tour to various parts of the country each summer, singing and playing a variety of instruments. New members welcome.
• Stephen Ministry Introductory Workshop will be offered from 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 12. Learn to be an active listener during this three-session workshop. At South Hills Church of the Nazarene, Bethel Park, the fall session of DivorceCare will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 3-Dec. 10. A video with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics will be featured weekly prior to discussion. Seminar sessions include “Facing My Anger,” “Facing My Loneliness,” “Depression,” “New Relationships,” “KidCare” and “Forgiveness.” Fee of $20 includes a workbook. At St. David’s Evangelical Church, Venetia, the fourth annual community picnic will be held Sept. 13, featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled veggies, salads and desserts. Vegetarian and gluten-free food will also be available. Games and bounce houses are planned for the children. The event will begin after the service, around 11:30 a.m.
