Military: Week of Sept. 9

1 min read

Corey W. Gaffron, an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet at the California University of Pennsylvania, has graduated from the Cadet Leader Course at Fort Knox, Ky. CLC is a 30-day summer training event focused on training cadets to solve complex leadership issues and problems at the company level.

Cadets usually attend CLC between their junior and senior years of college, and they must complete the course to qualify for commissioning. Upon successful completion of the course, the ROTC program and graduation from college, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve.

Gaffron is the son of Wayne E. Gaffron of Coal Center, Pa., and Jill E. Gaffron of Bethel Park.
