Travel back to the 1700s at cemetery history walk

Seventh annual cemetery walk
Tour a historic half-acre graveyard that dates back to 1785 at The Seventh Annual Turner Cemetery History Walk, set for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 19.
Sponsored by Mary S. Brown Memorial-Ames United Methodist Church and the Friends of Turner Cemetery, the event will include self-guided cemetery tours, historical displays, military re-enactors, soup and a bake sale. In addition, the presentation “Evolution of the Roads and Bridges of Squirrel Hill and Greenfield” will be given in the church meeting hall at 11:30.
The graveyard, located at 3424 Beechwood Blvd. in the Squirrel Hill/Greenfield area of Pittsburgh, contains the remains of early settlers of Squirrel Hill and military veterans of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War and Civil War.
