Sept. 11-13

Strip District World Festival

Entertainment, music, food and more will converge on the Strip District Sept. 11-13 to celebrate the cultures of Pittsburgh’s melting pot.

Listen to top-notch entertainment spanning a variety of genres, including Mt. Lebanon native and country artist Melanie Meriney at 7 p.m. Friday. With influences like Stevie Nicks and Miranda Lambert, Meriney’s music is country with a “taste of pop, a hint of rock, and a whole lot of honesty.” Other weekend performances include Pittsburgh-based Eagles tribute band Desperado, jazz/blues/rock artist Mia Zanotti, classic rock band The Granati Brothers, jazz saxophonist Kenny Blake, reggae artists The Freedom Band and country artist Mary Lou.

The festival, which will include ethnic food booths, games and activities for kids, sidewalk sales and more, will take place 6-9 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
