At Beth El Congregation of the South Hills, Scott, a special Music, Meaning and Memories Rosh Hashanah service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 14. • Stay ‘n Play, 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10. This indoor play space for children is open to the public. A free Mommy and Me yoga class is offered with admission to Stay ‘n Play. Stretch, bond and breathe with your child in this 30-minute class in the gross motor room. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Class is appropriate for crawlers to age 5.

At Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, Chapel Choir rehearsals begin at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 for grades 7-12. The Chapel Choir is the musical leaders for 9:30 a.m. worship and go on tour to various parts of the country each summer, singing and playing a variety of instruments. New members welcome.

At Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott, a special presentation on the new evangelization will be held Sept. 16. At South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, services of praise and worship, preaching, teaching and prayer are held 9 and 11 a.m. Sundays.

• GriefShare, a bereavement support group led by Pastor Pat Sutton, meets 10 a.m.-noon or 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 10-Nov. 12. This Bible-based support group consists of DVD teaching followed by discussion and sharing with others. Join anytime and return for any of the classes you missed. Cost of $15 includes workbook.

At South Hills Church of the Nazarene, Bethel Park, a Christian scouting-based program will be held 6:45-8:15 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 23 and continuing throughout the school year in Fellowship Hall. Caravan is for kids ages 4 through sixth grade and focuses on their physical, social, mental and spiritual growth through activities, field trips, ministry projects and more. At St. David’s Evangelical Church, Venetia, the fourth annual community picnic will be held Sept. 13, featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled veggies, salads and desserts, plus vegetarian and gluten-free foods. Games and bounce houses are planned for the children. The event will begin after the service, around 11:30 a.m.

At St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, upcoming sessions on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) will begin in a few weeks. • Christian Mothers and Guild will sponsor its annual Fall Flower and Bake Sale before and after all weekend Masses on Sept. 19 and 20. Potted seasonal flowers and home-baked cookies, cakes and pies will be available. New this year will be jars of homemade “Peach Sunshine” preserves made from this summer’s peach harvest.

At Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, Taste and See will be held 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Visit and learn about Westminster while enjoying food and fellowship, and videos of the goings-on at the church. Attend any of three morning worship service including traditional services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and the 9:45 a.m. contemporary service in the WROC (gym), which is casual and includes pop Christian worship music. Tour the facilities and hear about the “dungeon,” see the handprint room, view the gallery, and hear about the life-size Mr. Roger’s trolley. Refreshments in Fellowship Hall will include breakfast and lunch offerings.
