Upper St. Clair Commissioners welcomed Adam Benigni, AICP, as the township’s director of planning & community development during the Sept. 28 informational and general affairs meeting.

A Ford City native, Benigni has spent the last 10 years in Naples, Fla., working for eight years as a senior planner with the city, and the past two years as a land development manager. Benigni graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning his bachelor of arts in history with a minor in geography, and his master of science in geography and regional planning.

Benigni said that he and his family are happy to be closer to their extended family, and that he is excited to work for the municipality.

The board also announced the resignation of accounting manager Dan Berty, who will be joining Ross Township as director of finance.

In other business, the board will continue public hearings regarding plans for a new CVS store at the corner of Ft. Couch and Washington roads, and regarding conditional use approval for a distributed antenna system at 127 McMurray Road.
