‘The Last Dragon’ tour

The historic Hollywood Theater in Dormont hosts the Pittsburgh stop on the national tour of “The Last Dragon” and the autobiography of star Taimak Guarriello, “Taimak, The Last Dragon,” on April 22. There will be two shows, at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) and 9:30 p.m. (doors open at 8:45).

“The Last Dragon,” the 1985 cult martial arts film produced by legendary record producer and songwriter Berry Gordy, grossed more than $33 million at the box office, making it the highest grossing martial arts film of the time. The film pays tribute to martial arts legend Bruce Lee, and features a memorable Motown score, including the hit “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge.

Taimak Guarriello is an accomplished martial artist with black belts in Goju Ryu Karate, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Hapkido, Jujutsu and Tae Kwon Do. Shortly after winning the New York State Kickboxing Championship, he was cast by Berry Gordy in his first acting role in “The Last Dragon” as Leroy Green, a martial artist in search of “The Glow.” His autobiography “Taimak, the Last Dragon” was released in March 2016.

Taimak will sign copies of his book, and a Q&A session will follow each screening. Floor seats are $12 and are available at www.showclix.com/event/last-dragon.

A limited number of “The Glow” VIP tickets are available, which include a ticket to the event, a free copy of the book in hardcover, plus a special meet and greet photo op with Taimak in the balcony. VIP tickets are available at www.incorgnitobooks.com/the-last-dragon-tour.
