Bethel Park
Retail theft: Home Depot on Oxford Drive asked for police assistance April 18 with a shoplifter. Upon arrival, officers identified the first suspect and a subsequent investigation led to two other suspects being found, two of which have outstanding warrants from West Virginia. Transported to the Allegheny County Jail were Justin Maxin, 27, of Coraopolis who is charged with theft; Shane Blake, 31, of West Virginia, who has an outstanding arrest warrant out of West Virginia; and Jackie Jenkin, 33, of Crescent, who also has an arrest warrant from West Virginia, police said.
Retail theft: Police assisted Macy’s loss prevention April 19 at the South Hills Village store. According to reports, officers took Shayla Wadley, 21, of Pittsburgh and Angel Sherrell, 18, of Pittsburgh into custody. Both were charged with robbery, retail theft and conspiracy and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
Counterfeit bill: Personnel from Wal-Mart on Library Road told police April 20 they received a counterfeit $100 bill. The bill was seized and turned over to the U.S. Secret Service.
Road rage: A resident told police that she was followed home April 20 following a road rage incident in another jurisdiction. Police found the vehicle and discovered the driver, Beth Miller, 35, of Salem, W.Va., had an extraditable warrant out of West Virginia. She was picked up by the Allegheny County sheriff.
Peters Township
No charges: A Maryland landscaper will not be cited for a one-vehicle accident that took place 8:24 a.m. on April 21 in the 200 block of Rutledge Drive in McMurray, Peters Township police said. Police said Eric Crosco, 38, of Oakland, Md., had a truckload of mulch that he was taking to the Hidden Valley housing plan. He missed his turn and knocked down a telephone pole that held two transformers, which provided service to three Rutledge Drive residents.
One vehicle accident: No one was hurt, but one car had to be towed following a one-car accident April 23 on East McMurray Road. According to reports, Tracie Zimmerman, 41, of Charleroi, the driver, swerved to avoid a stopped car. She hit a mailbox and telephone pole.
Two vehicle accident: A car driven by Sean Ruschel, 16, of McMurray collided with a vehicle driven by Hailey Casteel, 16, of Jefferson Hills April 23 at the intersection of East McMurray and Bebout roads. No one was hurt, but both vehicles had to be towed, police said.
South Fayette
Resisting arrest: Police arrested Andrew Redlinger, 36, of 132 McVey Street, Sturgeon, on April 26 and charged him with resisting arrest, escape and prohibited acts. According to reports, police said they received a report of suspicious activity at the corner of Water and Station streets. Redlinger, who is known to police, refused to place his hands on the police car and tried to elude police on foot. He was captured a short time later and taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
