Chanukah lunch
Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Chanukah lunch for seniors at noon Dec. 28. The event will include Chanukah music and entertainment, hot latkes and a holiday game. Suggested donation is $5. The venue is wheelchair accessible. RSVP to Barb at 412-278-2658 or barb@chabadsh.com.
‘Best of’ award
Bethel Park, a Holiday Retirement community, was recently recognized by SeniorAdvisor.com as part of the “Best of 2017 Awards.” The largest ratings and reviews site for senior care and services honored the local senior living community for receiving consistently high ratings from residents and their families throughout 2016.
To qualify for a Best of 2017 Award, winning communities must offer either assisted living, Alzheimer’s care, independent living, low-income senior housing, skilled nursing or in-home care in the United States orCanada, and have maintained an average overall rating of at least 4.5 stars and have received three or more new reviews within 2016.

Chair exercises
Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at Scott Township Library. Space is limited for the DVD-directed program. To register, call 412-429-5380.
Theatrical- minded seniors
Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members ages 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com. There will also be a Christmas show, with performances beginning in November.
TOPS Weight loss

Westminster Recreation and Outreach Center (WROC) at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, will offer the following fitness classes for seniors:
• Strong Bodies-Strong Bones: Maintain and Build Bone Strength, 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 11-Feb. 22.
• Gentle Yoga Morning & Evening Class, 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 22.
• Arthritis Foundation Exercise, 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Mondays and 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 22.
• Tai Chi, 11:15 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, Jan. 11-Feb. 22.
