USC’s SAT scores rank No. 1 in Pittsburgh region

Upper St. Clair School District recently learned that the 245 high school students who took the SAT college entrance exam ranked No. 1 in the Pittsburgh region, with a combined SAT score of 1,741. Upper St. Clair ranked sixth in the state of Pennsylvania for SAT scores among public, non-magnet high schools according to statistics from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
USC’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Patrick O’Toole informed the school directors of the news at their Feb. 8 committee of the whole meeting.
During the meeting, the board voted to approve personnel listings requested by the superintendent. Dr. O’Toole requested hiring replacements for technology support coordinator Doreen Leech, who is retiring Jul. 1; high school student records and scheduling assistant Linda Dalzell, who is retiring March 28; and high school guidance counselor Carlene McGinty, who is resigning Feb. 12 to take a position as dean of students with the Mt. Lebanon School District.
