Seniors: Week of March 9
Senior lunch/movie
Register and pay by March 11 for Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department’s senior luncheon and movie matinee, set for March 15 at the Mt. Lebanon Rec Center, 2nd floor, Room A, for all seniors and their adult guests (Mt. Lebanon residency not required). Check-in is at 10:30 a.m. in the Rec Office. There will be a performance at 11 by The Vintage Radio Players theater group followed by the meal at noon, a 50/50 raffle and movie at 1 p.m. on the big screen. Cost is $6/person. Aging seminar
“Looking Out for Our Loved Ones,” a seminar addressing legal and emotional concerns about aging, will be offered 9 a.m.-noon March 12 at Unitarian Universalist Church, Mt. Lebanon. Experts will speak on available resources, housing options and how to discuss challenging matters such as Living Wills and Powers of Attorney. A fee of $5/person will cover a continental breakfast and materials. To register, call 412-561-6277.
AIC
The Adult Interest Center at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon, offers entertainment, information, fellowship and a meal for active, older adults in the South Hills. Programs are held at 11 a.m. Fridays through June, and are free and open to all. Lunch is served at noon for $6. No reservations are necessary.
During Lent, a meatless entrée will be available for those who abstain from meat on Fridays.
March programs include: musician Joe Lege, March 11; learn the colorful history of Pittsburgh’s oldest surviving commercial building, the Old Stone Tavern, and the efforts to preserve it on March 18, and celebrate Easter.
The AIC will be closed March 25 in observance of Good Friday.

Pre-Purim lunch
Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Pre-Purim Seniors Lunch at noon March 22, featuring hamentashen and a special Purim program. Suggested donation is $5. Wheelchair accessible. To register, call Barb at 412-278-2658.
Weight loss
Take the Weight off Sensibly (TOPS) Chapter #475 meets at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Carnegie Retirement Residence, located on Railroad Avenue. Have fun, and enjoy contests and speakers while losing weight at a reasonable price. Cost is $5/month. For more information, call Luella at 412-628-7228.
Chair exercises
Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place at Scott Township Library 11 a.m.-noon Tuesdays. A DVD-directed program to promote flexibility, strength and balance. Space is limited. Preregister online or by phone at www.scottlibrary.org or 412-429-5380.
Fitness classes
Westminster Recreation and Outreach Center, Upper St. Clair, will offer the following fitness classes for seniors age 55+:
• Pilates Flow, 8-9 a.m. Mondays, through April 25.
• Cardio Strength Fusion, 8-9 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, through April 27
