Bethel Park

Retail theft: Police assisted Giant Eagle Market District loss prevention officers with an alleged shoplifter, Kimberly Morgan, 43, of Pittsburgh, Dec. 29. She was taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.

Attempted robbery: A black male, approximately 5’10” wearing dark clothing and a black flat brimmed hat pulled a knife on an employee at Lids store in South Hills Village Mall Dec. 29. The man demanded money, but fled when a customer entered the store. The incident remains under investigation.

Intoxication and indecent exposure: Michael Himes, 49, of Finleyville, was allegedly highly intoxicated and urinating in the parking lot of Hillcrest Shops on Route 88. He was taken into custody and charged with indecent exposure and public intoxication, police said.

Retail theft: Ryan Davin, 29, of South Park, will be charged via summons for shoplifting from Bed Beth and Beyond stemming from a Dec. 31 incident, police said.

Castle Shannon

Drunkenness and drugs: Andrew Ulinski, 31, of 3530 Ridgeway Drive, Bethel Park, was arrested on Willow Avenue Dec. 27 for public drunkenness and drug violations, police said.

Cecil Township

Porch theft: Virginia Lee Stock, 28 Raven Drive, said Dec. 29 that a One Direction bed spread, valued at $25, was missing from her front porch. Police are investigating.

Peters Township

Signs taken: Two PT Willing to Wait signs and one PT Willing to Wait sign were reported missing Dec. 28 from front yards in the 100 block of Simmons Road and on Taper Drive, police said.

Vehicles towed: Two cars had to be towed and a seven-month-old baby was evaluated by Peters Township medics following a two-car accident Dec. 28 at the intersection of East McMurray Road and Holly Drive. According to reports, Trevor Musulin, 23, of Fruitwood Drive, Bethel Park, was eastbound on East McMurray Road and failed to notice that the vehicle ahead of him, driven by Elaina Atchison, 37, of Stonewood Drive, had slowed because of traffic congestion.

Four-vehicle accident: Two vehicles had to be towed and one person was taken to the hospital following a four-vehicle, chain-reaction accident that took place Jan. 2 in the northbound lane of Washington Road, near the East McMurray Road intersection. According to reports, a vehicle driven by Lawrence Vittone, 49, of McMurray, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Carlos Valladares, 46, of Eighty-Four, whose vehicle was then pushed into the rear of a vehicle driven by Cynthia Schraeder, 64 of Venetia. Schraeder’s vehicle was then pushed into the rear of a vehicle driven by Holly Gregory, 49, of Canonsburg, who was stopped at a red light. The cars driven by Vittone and Schraeder had to be towed. Schraeder was taken to St. Clair Hospital for evaluation, police said.

South Fayette

False alarm: Police responded to a burglary in progress report 11:35 p.m. Jan. 1 at a partially constructed house in the 8000 block of Hinsdale Lane. Upon arrival, police discovered a couple performing a Buddhist ritual on their new home.

Items taken: A tree stand and a trail cam owned by William Gardner, no address provided, located in a wooded area off Mayview Road were reported missing Jan. 2, police said. Value of the items taken is $200.

Sign defaced: “KKK” was painted on the signs welcoming visitors to Newbury Square, a residential and retail center under development on Miller’s Run Road. The incident was reported Jan. 2, police said.

Upper St. Clair

Credit fraud: Credit cards belonging to a resident in the 100 block of Brookside Boulevard were used to charge $1,398 at Nordstrom’s, $1,306 at Saks, and $913 at Macy’s Dec. 31. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

Wallet taken: A wallet containing an ID and $150 in cash was reported taken Jan. 1 from an unsecured vehicle in the 2300 block of Hidden Timber Drive, police said.
