At Bower Hill Community Church, Mt. Lebanon, the weekly worship service is held each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome. Following worship, the Adult Education program provides thought-provoking classes to help understand our faith and how that faith is put into action. At Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, Celebrate Recovery meets at 7 p.m. Mondays in the Otterbein Room. Based on eight principles from the Beatitudes, the recovery program encourages fellowship and celebrates God’s healing power in our lives as we work our way along the road to healing, freeing us from life’s hurts, hang-ups and habits. • MLK Jr. Day Service Project, noon-3 p.m. Jan. 18. Make fleece tie blankets for Pittsburgh’s homeless. Bring $5 for lunch.

• Third Thursday Dinner & Program: Components and Benefits of Fitness, 6-7:30 p.m. Jan. 21, for women. Ann Hubbard, A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer, will share facts and fallacies of fitness, along with how and where to get fit this year. Cost is $8 for light supper (soup/salad). At South Hills Assembly of God, Bethel Park, GriefShare, a bereavement support group led by Pastor Pat Sutton, meets 10 a.m.-noon or 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, through March 31. A Bible-based support group consisting of a DVD teaching followed by discussion and sharing. Join anytime and return for any missed class. Cost of $15 includes a workbook. At South Hills Church of the Nazarene, Bethel Park, the winter session of the DivorceCare Support Group will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Jan. 21 with sessions continuing until April 21. DivorceCare features a video every week prior to discussion with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. Sessions include “Facing My Anger,” “Facing My Loneliness,” “Depression,” “New Relationships, “KidCare” and “Forgiveness.” Fee of $20 includes a workbook. At St. Anne Parish, Castle Shannon, the observance of the Jubilee Year of Mercy will offer additional opportunities to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. On Tuesdays, the blessed sacrament is exposed for all day Eucharist Adoration beginning at 8:30 a.m. until Benediction at 6:15 p.m. Confessions will be offered 5:15-6:15 p.m. and an evening Novena Mass in honor of St. Anne will be offered at 6:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.stanneparish.com.

At St. Bernard Parish, Mt. Lebanon, the Oremus study program, a course on prayer, will be offered 7 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 1-March 21 in Clairvaux Hall. Learn the essentials of an effective, fruitful prayer life. In eight weeks of at-home study, weekly small group discussion and video lecture, participants will learn how to express themselves in prayer and discover how God speaks to them. At St. Thomas More Church, Bethel Park, Designer Fashion Bingo will take place Jan. 23 in the Family Life Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., followed by bingo at 7. Advance sale tickets are $20 (no refunds) and include 12 games of bingo, each with a designer fashion item as a prize. There will also be door prizes, one “special” bingo, 50/50 and basket raffles. Hot sandwich plate, pizza, snacks, desserts and beverages will also be available. Seating is limited to 200. Due to space constraints, only one card per person (no exceptions). Remaining tickets will be sold for $25 at the door. Tickets are on sale in the parish office during regular business hours, or in the Family Life Center after Mass on Jan. 16 and 17.
