Jan. 16-Feb. 28
Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show
Escape to a tropical paradise without ever leaving Pittsburgh at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show, opening Jan. 16 and running through Feb. 28. The show will highlight the art of caring for and growing two challenging and beautiful plants – orchid and bonsai.
Jordyn Melino, exhibit coordinator, designed the show with help from Georgia Wahl, the display horticulturist at Phipps who specializes in orchid care, and Kevin Haughey, Phipps’ bonsai manager. “Caring for orchids and training bonsai are truly forms of art that require a skilled hand,” said Melino. “For this year’s show, we are celebrating these works of art and showcasing their beauty and form!”
