Video contest underway
The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania invites all Pennsylvania high school students to enter the Second Annual LWVPA High School Video Contest, with the theme of “Your Voice – Your Vote – Be Heard!” The contest is open to any team of students or individual student between 13 and 19 years of age and currently enrolled in high school in Pennsylvania. Contestants will create 30-second video public service announcements that encourage participation in the democratic process. Submission deadline is midnight, March 1. Design opportunities
On Feb. 15, La Roche College will host Meet Design, an all-day event for high school juniors and seniors to explore creative careers in the fields of graphic and interior design. The event will be held 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the North Hills campus. Students will test their creative skills in a hands-on design project then hear first-hand accounts from alumni of La Roche College’s design programs who are now professionals in their respective fields. The event will include an optional, abbreviated tour of the college, a continental breakfast and lunch. Register at designatlaroche.com by Feb. 5.
