Outdoor Classroom in Upper St. Clair closes

The Outdoor Classroom at Boyce Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair has suspended operations.
An announcement on the Outdoor Classroom’s website cites insufficient funding to continue programming after 12 years of providing environmental education activities. Payments that have been made for programs scheduled for June 2 or later will be refunded.
“The board wishes to acknowledge the dedication and teaching excellence of the classroom staff and the support of our many friends,” the announcement states. “We believe that the benefits delivered by more than a decade of environmental education programming stand as a testament to The Outdoor Classroom’s mission to connect the people of Southwestern Pennsylvania with their environment.”
