Dancing, yoga and fitness in Market Square

Market Square is transforming into a hub for health, fitness and fun this summer. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and its partners will present three programs offering free classes with something for everyone’s interests and fitness levels.
• Dancing in the Square – Join the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and USA Dance at 5:30 p.m. Fridays in June for an evening of free dance in Market Square. Ballroom and popular line dances are taught every week, with music provided by John Siefken. The schedule of performances and classes includes: Arthur Murray Downtown Dance Center, June 10; Chris Drum Dancers-Greensburg, June 17; and Yes, You Can Dance! from the South Hills, June 24.
• Yoga in the Square – 10 a.m. every Sunday morning through Sept. 4. In the third year of partnership with FittPGH, Yoga in the Square brings together some of the region’s best-loved instructors for a perfectly Zen start to Sunday mornings. • Move it Mondays –In partnership with PNC YMCA branch, Move it Mondays will offer a variety of lunchtime fitness classes. At noon each Monday through July, classes will be taught by popular instructors from PNC YMCA, where the gym overlooks Market Square. Class schedule includes: Zumba, June 13 and July 25; PiYo, June 20 and July 18; CIZE Dance Party, June 27; HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), July 11.
