The athletes showcased this week have been named Most Valuable Players in their respective sports. They will be honored along with the Top 10 finalists for The Almanac’s male and female athlete of the year awards at the Premier Performers Sports Banquet, set for 6:30 p.m. May 22 at the Crown Plaza Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh South, located in Bethel Park. The Waldie/Shaeffer Award winner will also be announced at that time. A limited number of tickets remain for the event. Tickets are $35 per person. Call 724-941-7725 to order.
