Bethel Park
Retail theft: Employees at Shop ‘n Save, 5001 Library Road, called police May 9 for assistance with a shoplifter. Cheryle Doyie, 61, of Freemont Street, Pittsburgh, was charged with felony retail theft and taken to Allegheny County Jail, police said.
Drug offenses: Police arrested Richard Johnson, 34, of Bethel Park May 17 at Walmart on Library Road and charged him with public drunkenness and other related drug offenses, according to reports.
Retail theft: William Heasley, 42, and Kristal Parker, 33, both of Pittsburgh, were arrested May 17 at Home Depot on Oxford Drive and transported to the Allegheny County Jail on felony retail theft and possession charges, according to reports.
Doors shattered: Police said that on May 18, the doors at Valero gas station, 3405 South Park Road, were shattered. The incident remains under investigation.
Retail theft: Jacob Oldynski, 24, of Brentwood and Joseph Merante, 27, of Castle Shannon were arrested and charged with retail theft stemming from a May 17 incident at Home Depot on Oxford Drive, police said.
Retail theft: Antoinette Balzer, 42, of Pittsburgh was arrested and charged with felony retail theft May 19 in connection with an incident at Macy’s at South Hills Village Mall, police said.
Drug offenses and theft: Darlene Kelleher, 54, of Pittsburgh was arrested May 22 at South Hills Village Mall and charged with felony retail theft and drug offenses, police said.
Castle Shannon
Simple assault: Police arrested Ashlee Kara, 33, of 1236 Propect Ave., Pittsburgh, on May 13 and charged her with simple assault, according to reports.
Warrant issued: A warrant for burglary and theft was issued May 14 for Christopher Stockley, 27, of Ranchview Drive, Pittsburgh, police said.
Drug violations: Joseph Merante, 26, of 1510 Blossom Hill Road, Pittsburgh, was arrested May 18 and charged with drug violations and an outstanding warrant, police said.
Peters Township
Three-vehicle accident: Two vehicles had to be towed following a three-vehicle accident May 19 in the 100 block of East McMurray Road, police said. According to reports, Thomas Tallant, 74, of Canton, Ga., was in the westbound lane and stopped at a traffic light. Matt Meola, 18, of McMurray, was also westbound, but failed to stop and pushed a vehicle driven by Calleigh McCluskey, 17, of McMurray into Tallant’s vehicle. The vehicles driven by Meola and McCluskey had to be towed from the scene.
Pole downed: A vehicle driven by Alex Westwood had to be towed following a one-vehicle accident May 21 in the eastbound lane of Valley Brook Road. According to police reports, Westwood said he swerved to avoid a collision with a vehicle that drifted into his lane, causing him to knock down a pole.
Two-vehicle accident: Irving Hymson, 72, of Scottdale, Ariz., was at the intersection of East McMurray Road and Inverness Drive May 20 when his car was struck by a vehicle driven by Meghan Ruffing, 29, of McMurray, according to police. Hymson’s vehicle had to be towed, police said.
One injured: Evan Carroll, 23, of Bethel Park was taken to St. Clair Hospital May 20, after a motorcycle he was riding in the 300 block of East McMurray Road collided with the back of a vehicle driven by Robert Gilmore, 67, of Monongahela, who was stopped in traffic, police said.
Tools taken: A tool box containing a saw and other tools was reported missing May 21 from an unsecured house that is under construction in the 100 block of Wellington Circle, McMurray, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
