South Hills Players present Neil Simon classic

Neil Simon play
The South Hills Players will close out the 2016 season with the Neil Simon classic, “God’s Favorite.” The comedy, loosely based on the Book of Job, runs through Nov. 19.
Well-to-do businessman Joe Benjamin is a modern-day Job, with a demanding wife, three grown children, and a pair of wise-cracking servants. Benjamin’s belief in God is deep, until his faith is tested after a visit from a “messenger” who wants him to denounce his Lord as part of a bet God has with Satan.
“Neil Simon’s ‘God’s Favorite’ leaves the audience with a fresh dose of faith just in time for the holidays,” said cast member Bre Brown. “The play tests man’s faith, and, no matter your religious affiliation, everyone can relate to having/losing faith in something.”
“God’s Favorite” marks the group’s 59th season of community theater.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17-19 at the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, located on Pine Avenue in Castle Shannon. Tickets are $14.
