At Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, a Heavenly Cookie Shoppe will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 3, featuring baked goods donated by the United Methodist Women and friends. Choose from thousands of homemade Christmas cookies, specialty goodies and a few craft items with a “heavenly” twist. Cookies are $8 per pound. Specialty items and crafts are priced separately. All proceeds go to mission projects of the United Methodist Women.

• “Why Be a Christian?”, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Sundays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18. At each class, speaker Dan Aleshire will explore the multifaceted ideas of the Christian faith, including Sin and Grace, Love and Justice, and Truth and Hope.

• Luncheon and Carols of Christmas, noon on Dec. 8. Gather for lunch and a program of four-part carols with Ryan Keeling and friends, then join in a sing-along of Christmas music. Lunch cost is $9. Sponsored by the United Methodist Women.

At Community of Christ Church, located on South Park Road in Bethel Park, a free drive-through live Nativity is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 10. Enjoy 10 outdoor scenes, with live actors and animals from the comfort of your car as you drive through a luminaria-lit path that depicts the journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus. At Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Scott and Washington roads, the ninth annual Christmas Cantata will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4, in the sanctuary. Enjoy a musical presentation by the 60-plus-voice community Cantata Choir with full orchestra. “Jesus! The Advent of the Messiah” will include both familiar melodies and new songs of praise.
