Seniors: Week of Nov. 30
Chanukah lunch
Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Chanukah lunch for seniors at noon Dec. 28. The event will include Chanukah music and entertainment, hot latkes and a holiday game. Suggested donation is $5. The venue is wheelchair accessible. RSVP to Barb at 412-278-2658 or barb@chabadsh.com.
Theatrical-minded seniors
Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members ages 50 and older are needed. The group’s current show is “The Fabulous Fifties.” For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com. There will also be a Christmas show, with performances beginning in November.
Chair exercises
Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at Scott Township Library. Space is limited for the DVD-directed program. To register, call 412-429-5380.
Fitness classes
Westminster Recreation and Outreach Center at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, will offer the following for people ages 55 and older:
• Gentle Yoga Morning and Evening, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 14, and from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Dec. 12.
• Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Mondays and 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 21. A fun-filled, low-impact course that helps most people with arthritis increase joint flexibility and find relief from arthritis pain.
• Strong Bones – Strong Bodies, 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 21. Exercise physiologist Anne Brucker presents a gentle, joint-friendly OsteoDynamic program that strengthens the spine, rebuilds bone, teaches balance and reduces fractures.

SENIOR LUNCHEON
Senior luncheons are held at the Community Recreation Center in Peterswood Park, Peters Township, from noon to 2 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month (October through May). Entertainment, an interesting speaker or interactive activity is provided at each luncheon. Events are free, but guests are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert to share. On Dec. 14, a holiday celebration will include performances by Peters Township High School students. A optional $5 gift exchange will be held (wrap gifts). Call 724-942-5000.
TOPS Weight loss
