Sun Ra Arkestra

Kente Arts Alliance will present the Sun Ra Arkestra at 7 p.m. Sept. 18, at the New Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square East, North Side. In addition to the Sun Ra Arkestra, Charlotte Ka, popular Pittsburgh artist, will exhibit an art installation that will pay tribute to the music of Sun Ra. Sun Ra was one of the great big-band leaders, pianists and surrealists of jazz, unparalleled for his purposeful outlandishness.
