Bethel Park
Drug charges: Officers responded to a report of a possible case of driving under the influence Sept. 13 at Sheetz on Library Road. When they arrived, police found the vehicle and discovered a small amount of marijuana inside. The vehicle was towed. Charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana will be filed against Julian Leiber, 22, of Pittsburgh, police said.
Drug charges: The manager of Giant Eagle on Library Road called police Sept. 14 to report that a person inside a vehicle in the parking lot was acting suspiciously. Police said they will charge Marcial Sanchez, 25, of Finleyville with possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Terroristic threats: Police arrested David Nalepa, 39, of Bethel Park on Sept. 17 for making terroristic threats at an estate sale on Murdock Avenue. According to reports, Nalepa had a gun and was threatening people about a parking spot. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail without incident, police said.
Robbery investigated: Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at 10 p.m. Sept. 17 at Walgreens, Fort Couch Road and Route 19.
Mt. Lebanon
Attempted luring: Mt. Lebanon police said a man driving a white SUV on St. Clair Drive attempted to lure a young girl into his vehicle on Sept. 17. According to reports, the child was playing in her front yard when the driver pulled up and said he had something for her inside the vehicle. The girl, who was not harmed, ran into her home. The driver is white, in his mid- to late 50s and partially bald, police said. The vehicle is a mid- to full-sized SUV with a spare tire mounted on the back. The tire cover is gray and has a yellow marking that resembles a vertical crescent moon on it. Anyone with information can contact 911 or Mt. Lebanon police at 412-440-2053.
Peters Township
Retail theft: Two Muse residents were arrested Sept. 15 and charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy stemming from an incident at Giant Eagle in Donaldson’s Crossroads. According to police, Michael Maiden, 38, walked into the store about 11 p.m. and took six cartons of Newport cigarettes, valued at $498. He then got into a vehicle driven by Jackie Gardner, 34, police said. Police apprehended the pair a short time later. Maiden and Gardner were transported to Washington County Jail and held on $5,000 straight bond.
McDonalds struck: A vehicle driven by a Mt. Lebanon man jumped the curb and struck McDonald’s, 3723 Washington Road, on Sept. 17, knocking a hole in the wall. The driver, Dominic Coppola, 79, was not injured, and the vehicle was driven from the scene, Police said.
