Holy Week Services: Week of April 5
At Bethel Presbyterian Church, Easter observances begin with a free choral concert, “Journey Through Holy Week,” at 7 p.m. April 8. Five church choirs and their bell ringers will participate. The singers are from Our Redeemer Lutheran, Faith Lutheran, Canonsburg United Presbyterian, First Bethel United Methodist and Bethel Presbyterian churches. There also will be music at the 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday service on April 9.
• Communion will be included in the Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. April 13, and there will be a Tenebra service at 7 p.m. Good Friday, April 14.
• The Easter Service of joy and thanksgiving will be offered at 10:30 a.m. April 16.
The Rev. Cathie Smith will be preaching at the services.
At the Bible Chapel, McMurray, Journey to the Cross will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. April 11, 12 and 13, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Good Friday, April 14, at the South Hills campus, and a Good Friday service will take place at 7 p.m. in the worship center.
Easter services will include:
• Robinson – 8, 9:45 and 11:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 16
• South Hills – 4 to 6 p.m. April 15, and 8, 9:45 and 11:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 16
• Washington – 9 and 10:45 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 16

At Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, the following will be offered during Holy Week:
• Meander the Labyrinth, 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 13, and Good Friday, April 14. Walk a personal path of meditation and prayer.
• Silent Communion, 3 to 6 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 13.
• Tenebrae: Service of Darkness, 7:30 p.m. Good Friday, April 14. This dramatic and moving service provides a meditative hour of scripture, interwoven with music, in candlelight, to walk you though Christ’s passion. A surprising conclusion awaits.
• Family Easter Celebration, 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 15. Early childhood- to elementary-aged children will enjoy an egg hunt, activity stations, photo booth and live bunnies from Rabbit Wranglers. Cost is $2 per child, plus there will be a collection of 18 ounce jars of peanut butter to go to local hunger ministries. Preregister by calling or at christumc.net/Family-Easter-Celebration.
• Easter Weekend Worship, April 15 and 16. Celebrate the risen Christ with brass and hymns, praise songs, prayers and the spoken word, at one of seven worship services: Casual (with baptismal renewal and communion), 6 p.m. Saturday; Sunrise, 7 a.m. Sunday; Cathedral, 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday; Contemporary, 10:01 and 11:31 a.m. Sunday.

At In His Presence Church, Venetia, a special service is planned for Resurrection Sunday, April 16. The youth will be performing a dance drama production titled “Arise!” Worship for Easter Sunday begins at 10 a.m. Light refreshments will be served after the service and an egg hunt for the youth is planned for those in attendance. • Maundy Thursday, April 13 – Contemporary Worship Service, 7 p.m., with Communion.
• Good Friday, April 14 – Traditional Tenebrae Service, 7:30 p.m., with Communion.
