Retired Men meet

The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group will meet on Aug. 17 at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church, Old Clairton Road. Veteran Nick Grimes will talk about his experiences in Afghanistan. Lunch will be served at noon at a cost of $8. To reserve lunch, call 412-655-2000.

Senior series

Peters Township Parks & Recreation will hold “The Beatles & Bagels” from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 24 at the amphitheater in Peterswood Park, as part of its new Senior Series. The event is free for seniors and includes light breakfast options. Bring a lawn chair. Sign up at the front desk or by calling 724-942-5000.

TOPS Weight loss

Enjoy contests and speakers while losing weight for $5 per month with TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter #475. The group meets from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at Carnegie Retirement Residence, Railroad Avenue. Weigh-ins at 6:15. For more information, call Francis at 412-818-7489.

Dormont AARP

Dormont AARP #3015 meets the second Thursday of each month throughout the year at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road. All seniors age 55 and older and new members are welcome. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A meeting follows at noon. Activities include entertainment, speakers, pancake brunch, covered dish dinner, annual picnic, fundraisers and travel opportunities. Pickleball

• Chapel Sages at The Bible Chapel, McMurray, offers Open Gym Pickleball from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, through Sept. 5 at the South Hills campus. For more information, contact sports@biblechapel.org.

• The Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park, Upper St. Clair, offers beginner pickleball play from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, and intermediate/advanced pickleball play from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. To learn more, contact the C&RC at 412-221-1099.

Chair exercises

Theatrical- minded seniors

Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members age 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com.
