Country Store in Venetia struck by car

The owners of the Country Store in Peters Township planned to reopen just a few days following a crash Aug. 23 that caused significant damage to the front of the building.
Carter and Charity Glenn were inside the store when a vehicle careened through a wall at about 11 a.m.
“I was in the kitchen, and it sounded like a freight train,” Carter Glenn said. “My wife and several workers were toward the front area. One worker was able to push another worker out of the way of the oncoming vehicle.”
The cause of the accident, which Glenn reported involved a young female driver, was not known as of Aug. 23. Police said they were investigating.
“We’re thankful that there was no significant injury. Had it happened at a different time, it could have turned out very differently,” Glenn said. “We just know that God protected us and our crew from any serious damage.”
He said he told the driver: “It’s just some wood, and nobody’s hurt. And that’s what counts.”
