Youth football league banned from using South Fayette stadium

The first-year Oakdale Raiders football organization is no longer permitted to use South Fayette Stadium due to the condition it left the facility in after its Aug. 19 games.
Javon Hines, president of the Oakdale Raiders youth football organization, apologized to the South Fayette School Board during its Aug. 22 meeting for the issues at the high school stadium after the four youth games.
The district administration had informed him earlier in the day the football organization would no longer be allowed to use the stadium.
“Whether it’s policing the parking lot, the stands, concessions, the field, whatever that may be, we will make sure we put 100 percent effort into make sure these facilities here at South Fayette are the same way when we leave as they were when we arrived,” Hines said. “I just ask for a second chance.”
Then three parents of players in the organization, Dana Monz, Kate Boyce and Robert Owen, also asked the board for forgiveness.
“For a new organization right out of the gate, I don’t think that went poorly,” Owen said. “Things always get better and organizations always improve as things move along.”
“I can say that from what we understand the outcome was of Saturday, it’s not what we want it to be,” Boyce added. “You have our utmost commitment all of us of the parents of the players that it won’t happen again.”
Superintendent Bille Rondinelli said a final decision has not yet been made as to whether the organization will be allowed to use South Fayette Stadium again.
