Three local parks to receive state grant funds

Gov. Tom Wolf announced on Dec. 5 recipients of grants from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources through its Community Conservation Partnerships program.
There are 18 projects benefiting from the grants in Allegheny County, including $300,000 to Upper St. Clair for development of Morton Complex/Community Gardens Connection Perimeter Trail in Boyce Mayview Park, and another $175,000 to the county for the rehabilitation of South Park.
In Washington County, Peters Township will receive $150,000 for Peterswood Park. Work is to include construction of a pedestrian walkway and installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing.
