School boards hold reorganization meetings

The annual school board reorganizations were held earlier this month. The results in Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon, Peters Township, South Fayette and Upper St. Clair are as follows.
Bethel Park School Board
The Bethel Park School Board re-elected Donna Cook as president and selected Connie Ruhl to serve as vice president during its Dec. 5 reorganization meeting. New board member Ken Nagel was sworn in, as were returning members Cindy Buckley, Pam Dobos and Ruhl.
Mt. Lebanon School Board
Judge Terrence McVerry conducted the swearing in of new school board members Elaine Cappucci and Aviva Diamond, and re-elected directors Michael Riemer and Stephen Strotmeyer during the Dec. 4 reorganization meeting. The board elected Riemer as board president and Sarah Olbrich as vice president. A two-year seat on the school board remains open and the board planned to conduct interviews during a special meeting Dec. 18.
Peters Township School Board
Thomas McMurray remains school board president and Rebecca Bowman, vice president. Sworn in for new terms were Bowman, Lisa Anderson, Jameson Hardy and Daniel Taylor during the Dec. 4 meeting.
South Fayette School Board
During its Dec. 4 reorganization meeting, the South Fayette School Board elected Alan Vezzi as president and Paul Brinsky as vice president. Len Fornella and Jen Iriti were sworn in to new terms.
Upper St. Clair School Board
Amy Billerbeck was selected as president of the Upper St. Clair School Board, her third time as board president since her election in 2007. Barbara Bolas was elected vice-president. Superintendent Patrick O’Toole also recognized outgoing president Angela Petersen. Also during the meeting, Judge Arnold Klein administered the oath of office to newly-elected board members Daphna Gans and Dante Plutko Jr., along with returning board member Louis Mafrice Jr.
