Snow Ball Dance

Consulate Health Care of North Strabane and Consulate Retirement Village of North Strabane will hold their annual Snow Ball Dance from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at the senior living center located on Tandem Village Road in Canonsburg. Senior luncheon

Mt. Lebanon Recreation will hold a senior luncheon on Feb. 21 at the Rec Center, 2nd floor, Room A, for all seniors and their adult guests (Mt. Lebanon residency is not required). Check-in at 10:30 a.m. in the Rec office. Ron Fleck, a physical therapist from Fox Rehabilitation, will present Diabetes Awareness: Eat Right & Exercise at 11 a.m. A meal will be served at noon followed by a 50/50 raffle then a movie at 1 p.m. Fee is $6 per person for those preregistering by noon on Feb. 17. Fitness classes

Westminster Recreation and Outreach Center at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, will offer the following fitness classes:

• Gentle Yoga Morning & Evening Class, 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, through Feb. 22.

• Arthritis Foundation Exercise, 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Mondays and 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays, through Feb. 22.

• Pilates Flow, 8 to 9 a.m. Mondays, through April 24. Strengthen and tone muscles, improve posture, flexibility and balance, while creating a more streamlined shape.

• Cardio Strength Fusion, 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, through April 26. This class incorporates a fusion of styles with focus on both aerobic and strength elements.

Chair exercises

Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at Scott Township Library. Space is limited for the DVD-directed program. To register, call 412-429-5380.

Theatrical-minded seniors

Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members ages 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com. There will also be a Christmas show, with performances beginning in November.

TOPS Weight loss

Have fun and enjoy contests and speakers while losing weight for $5 per month with TOPS (Take off Weight Sensibly) Chapter 475. The group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays at Carnegie Retirement Residence, Railroad Avenue. Weigh-ins at 7. To join or for more information, call Francis at 412-818-7489.

Free food

South Fayette Township is partnering with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to provide monthly distributions of free boxes of nonperishable foods, plus fresh cheese, to qualifying adults age 60 and up who meet the income guidelines. Application must be made in person at the South Fayette Township Municipal Building, located on Millers Run Road, Morgan. South Fayette Township residents and neighbors are welcome to apply. Those having a caretaker or needing someone to pick up their boxes are asked to call 412-221-8700. Forms are available to register a caretaker or proxy. Seniors luncheon

Dormont AARP

Dormont AARP #3015 meets the second Thursday of each month, year round, at Wallace Presbyterian Church on Greentree Road (intersection of Potomac and Greentree). All seniors age 55 and older are welcome, including new members and visitors. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A meeting follows at noon. Light refreshments are served.
