‘Drowsy Chaperone’ a hilarious musical farce

March 3-11
‘The Drowsy Chaperone’
Upper St. Clair High School will present its spring musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone,” March 3-5 and March 9-11 in the school’s theatre. The curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, March 3, 4, 10 and 11. Family Night, with a 6:30 p.m. show time, is set for March 9, and a 2 p.m. matinee is offered on March 5.
“The Drowsy Chaperone,” directed by Larry Cervi, features a cast of more than 70 students and is accompanied by a 40-member student orchestra.
When a diehard theatre fan plays his favorite cast album, the characters come to life in this hilarious musical farce. Winner of five Tony Awards, “The Drowsy Chaperone” is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.
Adult tickets purchased in advance are $12 through March 2 and $15 starting March 3. All student tickets are $5. Admission for Upper St. Clair senior citizens is free with an USC Gold Card.
Purchase tickets in person at the theatre box office, located within Upper St. Clair High School, beginning Feb. 24. The box office will be open from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday evenings. In addition, the box office will open one hour prior to each show.
