Senior luncheon

Mt. Lebanon Recreation will hold a senior luncheon Jan. 17 on the 2nd floor of the Mt. Lebanon Rec Center (Room A) for seniors and their adult guests (Mt. Lebanon residency not required). Check-in is at 10:30 a.m. at the Rec office. At 11, Kevin Kramer of Silver Scholars will present “Maintain Your Brain.” A meal will be served at noon followed by a 50/50 raffle and afternoon activity/movie at 1 p.m. Cost is $6/person if preregistered by noon on Jan. 13. Soup for the Soul

Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Soup for the Soul senior luncheon at noon on Jan. 18, featuring inspirational stories. Suggested donation is $5. Wheelchair accessible. To register, call 412-278-2658.

Fitness classes

Westminster Recreation and Outreach Center at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, will offer the following fitness classes:

• Strong Bodies-Strong Bones: Maintain and Build Bone Strength, 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesdays, through Feb. 22.

• Gentle Yoga Morning & Evening Class, 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, through Feb. 22.

• Arthritis Foundation Exercise, 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Mondays and 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays, through Feb. 22.

• Tai Chi, 11:15 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, through Feb. 22.

Chair exercises

Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at Scott Township Library. Space is limited for the DVD-directed program. To register, call 412-429-5380.

Theatrical-minded seniors

Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members ages 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com. There will also be a Christmas show, with performances beginning in November.

TOPS Weight loss

Have fun and enjoy contests and speakers while losing weight for $5 per month with TOPS (Take off Weight Sensibly) Chapter 475. The group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays at Carnegie Retirement Residence, Railroad Avenue. Weigh-ins at 7. To join or for more information, call Francis at 412-818-7489.
