Lunch and Learn

The Residence at Logan, Bethel Park’s newest senior independent living community, will host a Lunch and Learn seminar to discuss senior living options. The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. July 20 at the community at 5851 Keystone Drive. A complimentary lunch will be served. Representatives will be available to answer questions and tour model apartments. Information will also be provided regarding special incentives for the first 50 residents who sign a lease. Retired Men meet

The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group will meet on July 20 at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church on Old Clairton Road. Lunch will be served at noon. Sue Gartland will play guitar and sing folk music. Cost for lunch is $8, payable at the door. For reservations, call the church office at 412-655-2000.

Fitness

Westminster Recreation & Outreach Center (WROC) at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, offers an Arthritis Foundation Exercise class for seniors age 55 and older, from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays, through July 26 and from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Mondays, through July 31. Senior series

Peters Township Parks & Recreation has begun a new Senior Series at the Amphitheater in Peterswood Park. The events, which are free for seniors and include light breakfast options, take place from 10 a.m. to noon and include: July 27, “Summer Garden Party” with storyteller Kim Adley; Aug. 24, “the Beatles & Bagels.” Bring a lawn chair. Pickleball

• Chapel Sages at The Bible Chapel, McMurray, offers Open Gym Pickleball from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, through Sept. 5 at the South Hills campus. For more information, contact sports@biblechapel.org.

• The Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park, Upper St. Clair, offers beginner pickleball play from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, and intermediate/advanced pickleball play from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. To learn more, contact the C&RC at 412-221-1099.

Dormont AARP

Dormont AARP 3015 meets the second Thursday of each month throughout the year at Wallace Presbyterian Church on Greentree Road. All seniors age 55 and older are welcome. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A meeting follows at noon. For more information, call Beverly at 412-563-3961.

Chair exercises

Chair Exercises for Seniors takes place from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at Scott Township Library. To register, call 412-429-5380.

Theatrical- minded seniors

Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members age 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com.

TOPS Weight loss
