Seniors: Week of July 26
Senior series
Peters Township Parks & Recreation has begun a new Senior Series at the Amphitheater in Peterswood Park. The events, which are free for seniors and include light breakfast options, take place from 10 a.m. to noon and include: July 27, “Summer Garden Party” with storyteller Kim Adley; Aug. 24, “the Beatles & Bagels.” Bring a lawn chair. Retired Men meet
The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group will meet on Aug. 17 at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church, Old Clairton Road. Afghan veteran Nick Grimes will talk about his experiences in Afghanistan. Lunch will be served at noon at a cost of $8, payable at the door. To reserve lunch, call the church office at 412-655-2000.
TOPS Weight loss
Have fun and enjoy contests and speakers while losing weight for $5 per month with TOPS (Take off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter #475. Dormont AARP
Dormont AARP #3015 meets the second Thursday of each month throughout the year at Unity Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road. All seniors age 55 and older and new members are welcome. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. A meeting follows at noon. Activities include entertainment, speakers, pancake brunch, covered dish dinner, annual picnic, fundraisers and travel opportunities. Pickleball
• Chapel Sages at The Bible Chapel, McMurray, offers Open Gym Pickleball from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, through Sept. 5 at the South Hills campus. For more information, contact sports@biblechapel.org.

Theatrical- minded seniors
Better Than Ever Independents, also known as the Sassy Seniors, is a theatrical group that performs vaudeville-type shows at nursing homes, AARP meetings and more. New members age 50 and older are needed. For more information, email jangary2@hotmail.com.
