Officials from South Fayette Township and Allegheny County held a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 19 after completing a waterflow improvement project on Sygan Road.

The township was awarded a $212,606 grant last summer from the Allegheny County Conservation District.

The purpose of the project, which took place in the 300 block of Sygan Road, was to reduce flooding and hence improve the road’s condition and a nearby wetland trail between the road and the Old Oakdale Road school.
