‘Halfway to the (Irish) Festival’

The Pittsburgh Irish Festival announces its latest initiative, the inaugural “Halfway to the Festival” party to be held from 1 to 5 p.m. March 19, at the Bulgarian-National Educational and Cultural Center, West Homestead. All proceeds will support the organization’s mission to preserve, promote and contribute to the cultural awareness of Irish history and tradition in Pittsburgh.

The event will feature live music from local Irish acts and performances by world champion Irish step dancers from the Shovlin Academy of Irish Dance, the Pittsburgh Irish Reelers and the Pittsburgh Ceili Club.

Tickets at $40 for adults and $20 for children include two complimentary beverages and a traditional Irish meal, plus one free raffle ticket to the “Irish Auction.” Children under 2 are free. The Celtic Gift Shoppe will be selling Irish gifts at a special discount. There will also be crafts for kids and an opportunity to purchase their tickets to the 2017 Pittsburgh Irish Festival at a discounted rate.
