The American entry in The Netherlands Lacrosse Cup ’17 earned silver medals in a tournament at Tilburg University. The team, coached by Seton-La Salle’s Brian Klisavage was led by four girls from the South Hills. Upper St. Clair junior Emily Megonnell, sophomores Olivia Gerlach and Hannah Thompson, as well as Seton-La Salle senior goaltender Kaitlyn Binotto played significant roles in the team’s success. For Binotto it was her second appearance in the Cup, having played in 2016. The team faced competition from club and national teams from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. Champion Sweden was the only team to beat Team USA; once in pool play and then again in the final. Following the tournament the girls and their families traveled to Paris for three days of touring and culture.
