‘Peter and the Starcatcher’

Little Lake Theatre Company, North Strabane will present “Peter and the Starcatcher,” a play by Rick Elice, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, through May 13.

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime with Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training, and an orphan boy longing for a home as they save Starstuff from falling into the hands of evil King Zarboff and the fearsome pirate Blackstache. This grownup’s prequel to Peter Pan is full of magical, madcap fun. A dozen actors, including James Curry, a senior at Peters Township High School, and Carly DeCock, a senior at Upper St. Clair High School, who play the main characters of Boy, who later becomes Peter, and Molly, play more than 100 unforgettable characters. Two other local teens round out the youth in the cast: Max Andrae, a freshman at Peters Township High School and Nick Staso of Canonsburg, a junior at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. Pam Pasternak of Mt Lebanon plays Molly’s dutiful nanny. John Herrmann of Washington plays the bumbling sailor Alf, and veteran Little Lake actor Art DeConciliis of Bethel Park plays Lord Leonard Aster, Molly’s father.

“Peter and the Starcatcher” is directed by Little Lake Theatre Artistic Director Jena Oberg. Performances are a 8 p.m. May 4-6 and May 11-13, and at 2 p.m. May 7. Tickets are $18-$20 for adults and $12 for children.
