At St. Louise de Marillac Parish, Upper St. Clair, the 100th anniversary of the famed Marian apparitions experienced by three shepherd children at the Cova da Iria in Fatima, Portugal, will be celebrated with weekly devotions each Tuesday in May with rosary and confessions with two priests at 6:30 p.m. followed by Novena prayers, a Fatima sermon, prayers for healing and benediction at 7:30. At St. Thomas More Church, Bethel Park, Amanda Rhoades, a 2015 Alumni of Bethel Park High School, is directing her fifth children’s Christian musical at St. Thomas More this summer titled “7 Days of Creation.” Any child currently in first through eighth grade that is interested in singing, dancing and/or acting and wants to make new friends through fellowship is eligible to sign up. Children do not have to be members of St. Thomas More Parish or School to participate. Cost is $15 per child with each additional child in a family being $10, to help defray the costs of programming, supplies and t-shirts. Scholarships are available to those in need. Performances will take place July 29 and 30. All practices will be on Wednesday evenings beginning May 17, with some Saturday morning practices for certain parts.
