Southern Beltway project to close South Fayette road

A section of Cecil-Reissing Road in South Fayette Township will soon be closing due to construction of the Southern Beltway.
The closure could happen as soon as April 25, according to contractor Beaver Excavating Co., and a detour will be put in place.
Cecil-Reissing Road is the third road in South Fayette Township to be closed due to the road project, as Cecil-Sturgeon Road and a portion of Millers Run Road also were previously shut down.
The plan expects Cecil-Reissing Road to be shut down between 300 feet north of the intersection with Karen Drive, in Cecil Township, to about 4,350 feet south of the intersection with Rigerts Hill Road, in South Fayette Township.
The detour will take drivers on a new connector road to travel from Cecil-Reissing Road to Cecil-Sturgeon Road.
The Reissing Road closure starts 650 feet west of its intersection with Grillo Road and ends 2,300 feet east of the intersection with Cecil-Reissing Road.
