Peters Township resident and musician Scott Blasey, best known for his work with the Clarks, sang the national anthem at the ribbon cutting, accompanied by daughters Ava and Gracelyn.
This April 11, officials from the municipality and the Peters Township Soccer Association gathered on a sunny but windy early evening to cut the ribbon on an impressive structure overlooking the synthetic turf fields of the soccer complex.
Frank Kosir Jr., council vice chairman, called the project “another example of what we have when private organizations such as the soccer boosters and the township work together with a little help from each other.”
The 1,200-member soccer association is contributing $300,000 toward the cost of the facility.

Shannon Barry, PTSA president, wished everyone a safe season on the fields.
“I also want to remind people that is a volunteer organization,” he said, “that nothing happens in this association without high-quality volunteers stepping up to the plate and helping us run this organization.”
