South Fayette road to close for Southern Beltway construction

Cecil-Sturgeon Road in South Fayette Township will be closed for more than a year beginning Feb. 19 due to the Southern Beltway construction project.
The road connects Millers Run and Robinson Run roads. It will be closed from about 2,000 feet west of Millers Run Road and 3,500 feet east of Rigerts Hill Road.
The detour will take drivers on Robinson Run Road, Route 978, Route 50 and Millers Run Road, while a work zone will also be set up along the westbound shoulder of Route 50.
The road is expected to be closed until May 30, 2019.
Cecil-Sturgeon Road is the second road to be affected by the Southern Beltway construction project, as a portion of Millers Run Road between Reed Street and Cecil-Sturgeon Road has been closed since Dec. 4.
